The editor-in-chief of the new magazine is headed by Dr. Noha Hilal Farran, she is an Art Historian, and researcher holding a PhD in art and science of Art.
“Al Tashkeel” magazine is an important reference for artists, university students, researchers . It is quarterly and bilingual, issued separately in Arabic and English.

The first issue of “Al Tashkeel” magazine was published in 1984, four years after the announcement of the Emirates Fine Art Society. The visual art movement in the UAE was witnessing a development and interaction at all other cultural levels, the first issue came at the time as a small internal bulletin for the association, the number of its pages does not exceed eight pages in black and white, designed by the artist Hussein Sharif, and written by the artist Abdel Rahim Salem and The late Hassan Sharif. Today, the association continues to publish it in a new way based on monitoring contemporary artistic developments locally and globally, with the aim of spreading culture and developing knowledge and visual taste.
