Dr. Noha Hilal Farran is the Founder & CEO of ‘Thinking Art’ Foundation’, Historian, Professor, Cultural Strategist, Researcher, Curator, Visual Artist & Chief Editor of Al Tashkeel magazine. Holding a Ph.D. with excellence in the ‘Art & Science of Arts’, an MFA in Fine Arts, and an MA in the philosophy of art, she has authored numerous published books and research papers documenting art in the Arab World. Some of her notable works include ‘Art in MEA, between Modernism and Post-modernism’, ‘Heritage, Modernism, and Art in Lebanese Eyes’, ‘Heritage & Creativity’, the encyclopedia ‘Memory & Art’, published by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage.

Dr. Farran has been actively involved in university education as a professor and head of the art and design department, overseeing curriculum management and coordination. She curated several exhibitions, and participated as an artist, in solo and group exhibitions, both locally and internationally.

Her contributions have been recognized through honors such as being listed among the most noteworthy hundred intellectual, cultural, and historical figures in the encyclopedia ‘Since Cadmus: We Are Civilization Builders’, an educational and documentary investigation. Additionally, she was honored by the Emirates Fine Arts Society for her pivotal role in relaunching Al Tashkeel magazine with a new form, content, and strategy, on a voluntary basis.

“Al Tashkeel” Magazine

he first issue of “Al Tashkeel” Magazine was published back in 1984, four years after the formation of the Emirates Fine Arts Society. The fine arts movement was witnessing growth and gaining traction on all other artistic levels.
